Charis Developments responded to a RFP from the Ontario Government for a new Courthouse serving the Midland area in 2002.

The proposal included the purchase of the former Midland Recreation Centre from the Town and performing a $2.5M renovation to the building.

The proposal also required the creation of a temporary Courthouse to be in use while the new Courthouse was under construction.
